It happens that for some obscure reasons some system windows such as info, ruler, message... do not show on the screen while they do exist in the MapInfo work space (the virtual screen that extends beyond the physical screen to its right and its bottom). The only way to "view" them is to reset their location by sending a Set window nnnn position (2,2) via the MapBasic Window. nnnn is the window code (1008 info, 1003 message, 1007 ruler) and (2,2) is a "visible" position on the screen, could be anything you want as long as it is on the screen.
Incidentally, I "measured" the size of my screen by dragging the upper left corner of the message window to the lower right of the visible screen and printing windowinfo(1003,4) and ,5) as ~14.5 x 11 in. Then I set the message window position to (40,40). Reading its new position I found it as been (14.14 , 10.9) whatever be the size of the window. There is the land of the unseen but yet extant. Does anyone have an idea of what might be going wrong? Thanks, Anahita Anahita Jungalwalla Ph. 6233 3091 or 0417 297 608 E-mail.
