I'm having some problems with MbCoder and Mapinfo, and I think the cause is an old version of Mapbasic.

When I try to compile using any of the new v7 statements, e.g. rotate(), I get errors. Any new functions cause the same problems, and MbCoder doesn't even apply syntax highlighting to them (which strongly suggests a versions problem).

I'm using MI v7 (with the patch), but if I check my Mapbasic application, it says 6.5. As far as I understand, MbCoder looks to Mapbasic when compiling, so it's not MbCoder that is out of date.

As far as I know, our sys-admin installed the full contents of the upgrade CD, so how do I upgrade Mapbasic to 7?

thanks for any advice

Frank
