David,

I saw that information on the MapInfo website, but I don't have this key on
my system (MI 6.5 on Windows 2000 Pro). I only have MaxLevel (set to 200)
and MICount (set to 5).

Easy to fix, but you'll need to edit your Windows Registry.

Not knowing what operating system you're running I can't be too specific,
I'll use mine for example. I'm running Windows 98se and Mapinfo 6.5

Access the following registry key and adjust the string value of MaxFiles as
shown:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\MapInfo\MapInfo\Common]
"MaxFiles"="100"

Hope this helps

Subject: MI-L Too many files open

Hi,

    I try to open an old workspace and I got an error message saying that I
have "too many files open". I know that this is caused by too many files
open for editing. I removed all "Set Map Layer X Editable" lines from the
workspace but I still got the same message. Somebody know how to solve this
problem?

Thank you
