Thanks to those that responded, Nigel Tideswell, David Reid and Ian Hull. Two solutions were suggested. The first provided by David:-
>Much of this is "AT YOUR OWN RISK" you can trash your Access Database if you're not careful. Make a deleteable copy if you >can, first, then monkey around with the copy!!! >I have accomplished this before using the "Export" table from Access. Choose a format such as txt, click on the advanced >button in the export window, set your specifications and save them. Finish the export process. >If you have permissions to set your preferences within Access, set them to "View system objects". You'll find your specs in >a table named something like "MSysIMEXSpecs". This table shows your saved export specification. >***Note >If you want a quicker easier, less detailed information, perform the export process above, in the Advanced window, create and >save your export specifications. Return to the export/advanced window, retrieve your saved specs, click the uppermost >lefthand square in the export spec table to select it. Then right click/copy this and paste it to a text file or whatever. >This works in Access 97 & 2000, not sure about other versions.' ... And the second as suggested by Nigel and Ian:- >Access has a tool included that can let you see, print and export a report detailing the structure and properties of a table, >query, form etc. >Go to Tools, Analyse, Documenter. Pick the object (table, qry etc) to report on and use Options to choose how much info to >show. >After the report opens, the report can be exported using File, Export and choosing the format you want.' The latter is the approach I took and it did the job nicely. Thanks again, Keith This email and any attached files are confidential and copyright protected.
