Question : I try to open a workspace and each time I got the message : Too many files open. Increasing the number of editable layers (at the same time) should solve the problem but how can I do that? I use MI 6.5 running on Windows 2000 Pro.
Answer : In the Windows registry ([HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\MapInfo\MapInfo\Common]) increase the MaxFiles key value (windows 98/Me). If this key is not existing (Windows 2000), create it using "Edit/New/DWORD value" in the Registry Editor and set the value to 100. Thanks to Lars V.Nielsen for that tip.
