I have ran into this problem more frequently after upgrading to MI Pro 7.0. I have never used MapX, but if it is v 7.0 you are on, then I would bet the functionality (object processing is the same). I have had to clean my tables(sometimes more than once) to get the my files to run properly. My suggestion would be to use the check region tool if it is available in MapX, if not, there are several MBX's out there.
