Hi Christopher ,

I experienced similar problems.

For me it seems as if MapInfo tries to use the information about the
spatial stuff (probably user_sdo_geom_metadata ore some whatever v$ views)
to figure out the spatial metadata.

However, this fails if you are using a view on a spatial table because for
the view this metadata is not there.

im afraid not, if they contain spatial columns.

BTW: it also fails, if you are creating a 1:1 view of a alphanumeric table
and trying to use it "live" (ie not importing the stuff into MI but doing a
connect to fetch the data as it is needed).
MI simply complains that the table (which is a view in fact) does not have
a primary key. I reckon, that is somehow bad use of v$ views in the way,
trying to fingure out the primary key by table name. As a view does not
have one (why should it?), MI fails here.

If you find a solution, let me know.
