Doh!

After some severe digging in the online help I found that I was approaching the
problem all backwards.
Or is it perhaps MapX that's built backwards ? ;-)

One has to use Datasets.Add with an ODBCQueryInfo object to specify the source.
And use a BindLayer object to specify the XY binding of columns to geometric feature.
Apparently that'll (automagically) generate the points layer for me. :-)

I'm having some problem in setting it up though. Does anyone have an example I can
learn from ?
The help has example of both methods, but not in combination.
