From: Landmark Geographic Solutions [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, March 30, 2003 11:22 PM To: MapInfo Listers Subject: MI-L Can not print large plots with HP 500 Hey Listers, Our group has just purchased a hp 500 plotter. We have several 38" x 60" Mapinfo plots that will not print out with the plotter. It seems we can print plots that a only 50" or less in length. Our current Operating systems are nt sever 2000 over a network and windows XP standalone. I know from expereince that win 98 and Mapinfo has no plotting length restrictions. My question to the list, Is there solutions out there so that xp and nt server 2000 will print any length plot from MapInfo? LGS You are correct we also have an HP 500 plotter under Win2000 and these limitations are troubling. We use SVGMapMaker and Illustrator in our map production procedures to bypass this limation. I can suggest using Adobe's Acrobat distiller driver and print from the resulting pdf. The quality output is not as good as for the SVGMapMaker and Illustrator combo. but it can be an interim solution. I don't believe (I might be wrong) that by adding more ram or the optional HP CARD in the plotter will solve your solution as the problem seems to be a MapInfo problem running under Win 2000.
