Unlike CADD packages where you can easily change the scale by resizing the objects, Map Info objects are not easily manipulated like this, for good reason. You have to do a transformation on the objects, but then MI will consider them to actually be that size. I would not recommend you do this, unless you are trying to permanently fix some error where the objects are not representing their real dimensions. If this is case try downloading rotary-181.zip\Rotator.mbx.
If this is for printing a detail, try this: open a second window from Map >Clone View. zoom in on the detail area. In layout add another frame and put the detail here, adjust the scale in layout by dbl click the frame, or go back to the map window and re zoom to taste. In CADD, one draws it as it is, then you set the printing scale such that 1" = 50' or 1/2" = 1 foot, etc. Then if you need a detail, you copy the line work, double or quadruple the size of the objects and label it on the detail caption. For example , an architectural drawing of a foundation at 1/4" = 1' Scale. You copy the line work from a foundation corner to show anchor bolts. You need the line work to be at 1" = 1 foot to show sufficient detail. You blow the line work up 4 times its actual size and call it out as 1" = 1', by selecting the appropriate lines, Copy, Paste, and then do a scale command where x and y are multiplied by a user supplied factor.
