You've hit the common problem! The PocketPC has a preset memory allocation for DLL's which can't be modified. Due to the excessive size of the MapXMobile DLL it restricts the amount of space available for other DLL's (such as normal embedded forms and controls). It is unfortunate that the emulator does not flag this, as I'm aware of a large amount of wasted development time before this limitation has been found.
You might care to take a look at www.handygis.com which is a generic MapXMobile product that could address your business requirements.
