i don't know how other people use this list, but mine just comes straight into my werk email box.
from the frequency of posts by the same users, i would assume most of us are happy to have a subscriber only setup, for posting anyway. i don't really mind the small amount of spam that get's through MI-L, i quite like comparing how many US DOLLARS ONLY are being offered. i'm sadly quite fond of the nigerian scam spam, but if we're more likely to also be hit with regular spam, then i'm all for subscribing. i've already got enough people harvesting my bigpong account, and the amount of offers i get at home everyday for prescription drugs and "member enhancements" is crazy. ... i just noticed another one came through in some crazy language ... this isn't gonna help the searchable archives having this stuff in there. imagine going to directionsmag, doing a search for mapinfo help and getting this, i know i'd probly dismiss the list. one thing is for sure, people aren't going to get any more scrupulous, thoughtful, or kinder toward their fellow species as time goes by, especially in the anonymous and rage-fuelled world of the internet. bring on subscriptions. ash. -----Original Message----- From: B. Expect more from them as it's pretty hard to keep on open list free from spam. We can restrict the list to only accept mail from subscribers, but as many of you have made clear, you don't want to have to subscribe just to post a message.
