Hi List I didn't think this was going to be too hard but I seem incapab;e of getting this to work and am seeking some help.
Background: I'm trying to create points at the centroid of my cadastral parcels (tab file) where the Water Meter parcel_ID (access table) equals the cadastral parcel_ID. Simple really or so I thought. From this point on I have a number of problems that are quite random and according to the manuals don't occur. I can do this exercise if the Water Meter table is imported from an excel file, however I would like this to be updated everytime we open the workspace. * "Cannot create a map on this linked table. Use 'Make DBMS Table Mappable' and reopen this table" : At this stage I have created a Map Catalog, Made the table mappable, closed the tab down & opened it again only to find the Water Meter Parcel_ID field has been dropped (the only field I want to use to geocode to the cadastre) * The downloaded access table, randomly drops one or two of these fields, and these fields seem not to have a common structure eg, integer, number, text. Can anyone help me or put me out of my misery quickly by telling me that MI cannot do this. thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to offer.
