Hi Simon,

I don't think this is possible. I haven't found a way thru !

But I have created my own way around this problem. I have create a VB
application that can be called with parameters. This VB application then
knows which MapInfo and which MapBasic application to connected to. If no
connection is made the MapBasic application is started again.

After this the parameters are sent to the MapBasic application using DDE
(the latest technology ;-) ) and the application acts on the parameters it
reads in the Remote MessageHandler.

Subject: MI-L MapBasic and Passing Command Line Parameters

Hi All,

Does anyone know if it is possible to run a MapBasic Program and within
the RUN statement include parameters
that will be used by the program to determine the appropriate actions to
be performed, for example

RUN "C:\MapBasic\TestProgram.mbx" param1, param2.

If this is possible,

(1) What is the format of the RUN statement (as above ?)

(2) Secondly, how are the parameters retrieved within the MapBasic
application ?

I would appreciate any ideas.

Thanks,
Simon Helyar
