Dominey,

Are you viewing the SHP file by itself, or do you have some other TAB
reference files open as well? I had that problem once, and it was due to
the MAP files being of different projections. When I opened the new file by
itself, I could see the points.

It's also possible you need to "override" the point's image, and select a
new one.

Just a couple of thoughts.....

Subject: MI-L Convert shp files to mif/map/tab????

All,

Am new to using mapinfo and am trying to convert a series shp files which I
have been sent into map files. I have tried opening them in MapInfo by going
to file open then selecting shape file but all I seem to get is an empty
page. I am able to view the browser with the area code/co-ordinates but see
no image which is what I really need. Any helpful would be gratefully
received.

Matthew
