Its been a while and a version or 2 back, but in general, I found that how
ever you leave the workspace in MI Pro, is how it shows up with pro viewer.
Your end users need to be opening workspaces, not tables, and a different
workspace for each theme or purpose you want to deliver. I just tested to
be sure and found that Workspaces also carry preferences with them. If you
have users with different preferences then indicate that in the workspace
name. For example, Road Map Metric.WOR, Road map Imperial.wor. While on
the subject, if you want people to be able to use Find (Control F)on a
particular field, then eliminate all the field indexes except the one field
you want them to access, layer order also being important for what the
cursor will label. Turn off selectivity for layers where its not needed.
Queries left active in the workspace will regenerate when opened in ProView
too, so you can let the workspace run special queries for you.

Subject: MI-L ProViewer install question

A query for those with PROVIEWER installations...

In recent installations of ProViewer some (BUT NOT ALL) use imperial (miles,
inches) units for distance and scale and layout etc., even when the maps in
workspaces are set to metric units - and inches to metres scaling is not
something our users like!!

In MapInfo it is possible to change the system settings to get around this
problem. Does anyone please know if there is a way to do this with
ProViewer, or why it does it on some PCs but not all???

All replies gratefully received. Will SUM.

Thanks,
Karen
