A major client called me this AM in a panic. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has issued a bulletin completely revising the structure of the Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA).
For those of you who deal with MSA's, the information is at http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/bulletins/b03-04.html . The implications for those companies who have historically used MSA's for their statistical analysis are enormous, requiring complete reprogramming of their analysis programs and divising a means to link previous documentation to the new programs.
