SORRY I FORGOT TO PUT A SUBJECT IN THE PREVIOUS ONE ...
Hi,
I am new to MapInfo and I was wondering if there was an mbx (or a MapInfo
built-in command??) somewhere that would allow me to highlight and to zoom
to a polygon on a map where point X or zone X (zone X being defined by a
lat/long quadragle or, in the more general case, an odd-shaped polygon)
would be. A typical use case could be :
define a bunch of reference polygons that I would like to be highlighted or
zoomed to (e.g. quadrangles corresponding to topographic map coverages);
enter point X or zone X;
if point X or zone X is within one (or more) of the reference polygons then
highlight the perimeter of the reference polygon(s) (or some other
highlighting method like gray shading) and allow to zoom to that (those)
polygon(s);
else tell the user the point or zone sought is not within one of the
reference polygons
I am sure there is stuff out there that allows to do something along those
lines. I wouldn't care customizing a MapBasic app (??) that is along those
lines, so please feel free to point me to whatever resource you think would
be a good starting point.
Thanx all!
