Peter, This question also interested me, and I note there is indeed a 'save as default' checkbox available in the Toolbar Options dialogue. However, I wonder if as step is missing, because in my installation after pressing the 'okay' button to this dialogue box the 'save as default' checkbox un-checks itself and of course the toolbars will not be saved in their new locations next time you start MapInfo.
I would appreciate any comments.
