Folks, I have a situation that I would like some advice on. ANY comments welcome or shared experience! We have a client that has converted MasterMap data (vector data from Ordnance Survey, UK) using ESRIs MapManager 8.1 from *.GZ format into ARC SDE format and have stored it in Microsoft SQL Server. The data is then read by ARC IMS and ARC MAP as the clients. I would like to access that data with another client, namely MapInfo and I would rather not re-convert the data or have to manage a second data holding. What are my options? Would using FME as middleware to convert on the fly be feasible or restrictive due to speed. Maybe I could covert to TAB from ARC SDE using FME as the middleware and then put a trigger in SQL to trigger data management in my second holding when the first is updated...or maybe I'm trying too hard? MapInfo corp advise me that Spatialware will not read ARC SDE so I don't think that is an option unless anyone knows better? Any thoughts?
