I promise that this is not a smart-alec answer, Gabriela, but Windows 98 is
(in my opinion and experience) an extremely unstable platform to run "heavy"
applications like GIS. My guess is that you'd be able to do what you want
if you were on W2000 or XP. Just my opinion.

Subject: MI-L MI glitches vs. GIS

Dear MapInfo users,
Here is a question that has more to do with MI glitches than GIS:
Using MI Prof 6.5 on Win98 I get this system error while editing regions:
Floating-point exception: Invalid.", after which MI crashes completely.
All I want to do is set some target regions and split, combine, or erase
with other selected regions. All these polygons are part of the same layer!
I thought that I had too many objects set target, I tried setting just one
and cropping it with just one other polygon. It did it again! At this point
I gave up, there is no way I could split those regions.
Any ideas?? Thanks a bunch!
