Hi Laurence

I have been getting this error for some time, sometimes, in MapInfo 6.5 or
in MapInfo 7.0 but also in Visual Basic.NET and some other applications.

It only appear sometimes but when I get it I have to reboot to get around
it. It seems that the error appears when i get to a specific memory address,
not that I know the exact address.

I have talked to my IT-department and the nearest we get to a solution is a
memory error because I got two types of RAM installed on my Win 2000 PC. I
have just chanced the RAM to two modules alike and I can´t provoke the error
anymore.....

Hope tis helps a little.

Hi Listers,

Does anyone know how to solve this error message?

The window title: "Hidden MAPINFOW.EXE - Application Error"
The message: The instruction at "0x77rcbcbe" referenced memory at
"0xffffffe". The memory could not be "read". click OK to terminate the
program

Windows 2000 MapInfo 6.5. Happens immediately after clicking the MI icon.
Reboot does not solve the problem, neither does reinstall. All other
applications are ok. ????

Thanks,
