I had noticed it before but thought to be an accident, but more testing proved it. If an MBX generates a MI table (e.g. a grid of cells), the size of the MAP file can be noticeably reduced (15-20%) by a simple packing of the table. I do not know if that is always as noticeable, but I would advise MB programmers to consider use it after creating/filling up a new table.
