Temporarily I work for the Michigan State Legislature as part of the non-partisan standing staff doing Scientific and Technical information research and providing relevant maps and database extracts. As a budget-driven, cost-cutting measure those that oversee us decided to cut my position (without consulting my direct supervisor or hers, as far as I know). No one else provides GIS and cartographic services. When I'm gone they'll have people doing maps in graphic applications but no GIS capabilities.
I'm looking for a new position. I live in Milford, near i96 & US23. I currently drive over an hour to work in Lansing. I have several very good reasons for not wanting to relocate. Any help in finding a GIS position up to roughly an hour away would be appreciated. This discussion group has been great! I'm only sorry I haven't not been able to contribute more in return for all I've gained from all of you. Thank you all. ....Bob [EMAIL PROTECTED] H 248-684-2082 H 526 Canal St. Milford, MI 48381 through Wed, 10/1/01: Robert Karr Phone: 517-373-3028 GIS Operator FAX: 517-373-0171 Science and Technology Division Legislative Service Bureau Michigan State Legislature 124 West Allegan Street, 4th Floor pob 30036 Lansing, MI 48909-7536 USA --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 8531
