An added feature when buying the entire package is adobe's ability to place hotlink regions on top of the PDF image, making it intelligent again. The panning hand turns into a link icon when passed over the region. Zoning regions can link to an ordinance text, overview maps can link to detail maps. You may also like to scan forms and then use the form tool to allow you (or your clients) to type in the information. To see an example of a PDF map, link to our website then to Zoning Map, also follow links to Forms- Variance to see a form that can be filled in on your desktop and printed out for submission. Unfortunately, I do not administer the site, so all the work I had done on linking the zoning map to the section maps and other stuff became too cumbersome for our already overworked Assessor/IT, and there was an issue of total file size in our free website space.
