Hello Matthew, This is a fairly common operation in MapInfo Pro and, fortunately, a simple process.
Under the Table menu, there is an option called "Create Points...". This essentially makes a point on a map at a given coordinate (specified from fields of your data). When choosing the option, choose the table for your bus stops, hit the Projection... Button and select "British Coordinate Systems" and "British National Grid". This makes sure that MapInfo knows that the numbers you're feeding it are NGR coordinates and not lat/lon or anything else. Pick a suitable symbol for the points and then choose the fields which contains you easting (for X) and northing (for Y). One final thing to check before you hit "OK" is... Are you sure your easting/northing coordinates are in metres and not 10cm or 10m units? If they are, you need to use the "Multiply" boxes to scale your coordinates up or down. None of this may be necessary in which case you just keep the figures as 1. Hit OK and Pro will create points for your bus stops. This will only take a moment unless you have thousands of bus stops. Then, use Layer Control to add this table (which is now "Mappable") to your base maps. Hopefully they should be where you expected!
