I have an oracle table which stores x and y co-ordinates for approximately 700 outlets. This table has been populated with all the x and y co-ordinates that I require, and I have also set up a field MI_CODE which I intend to use as the MapInfo index column - I have this setup as a varchar2, because I noticed that only varchar fields showed up in the "Make DBMS table mappable" form in the drop down list for the Index Column. When I make the table mappable, choosing the MapInfo Index type, and the appropriate columns for the index, x and y fields, the table is made mappable successfully....however, the bounds aren't set for the x and y. So I manually run an update on these fields to get the respective max and mins for the x and y fields, but the outlets still don't show up in the map browser. What I subsequently noticed was that the MI_CODE column was unpopulated (all nulls) - is this likely to be the problem, and if so, how do I populate the MI_CODE column with appropriate values...I assumed this was done when making the table mappable.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks. ____________________________________ Peter Brown ********************************************************************** CONFIDENTIALITY NOTE: This e-mail is intended only for the use of the individual or entity named above and may contain information that is confidential and privileged.
