I had several MapInfo grids (MIG) open and displayed in different mapper windows. After saving the workspace and reopening it some of my grids have different colours!
Spending one hour on spying what is wrong with my maps I realized the following:
When a workspace is saved, MapInfo automatically adds Set Map statement for each mapper open. In the Set Map statement it appends also "Inflect" clause, even if user did not modified the thematic appearance of grid. The problem come when values in the grid are aproaching zero. The lowest range is then set to, let's say, 1.51468e-009. But this value isn't preserved in the workspace, MI truncates the number to 1.51468e-00, which is 1.51468! And your colors are gone...
Similar problem occurs when creating thematic grid from point table with such small values using IDW interpolator.
What is MI accuracy limit, 1e-008?
Using MI 7.0
