I use splitline.mbx.  You click on the the line where you want it cutted.
That's it.

I don't remember where I got it, but it is a free tool so if you want it,
just ask.

Daryl,

Try using Polyline Split on the Objects menu.
Select the polyline, Set Target On
Draw a polyline that cuts across the targeted polyline (you may want to use
object snap to snap a node of the polyline to the exact point where you want
to divide the targeted line). Select the line you just have drawn and use
Polyline split.

        I'm attempting to break a long polyline at a specific vertex.
The result would be two new polylines.  I have attempted the "split"
command, but receive an error that I may not use a linear object.  I
receive this message even when closing the cutter polyline to create
polygon.  Suggestions?  
Is there an easier method for breaking a polyline?
