I have lots of questions on 3d viewer, prism maps and vertical mapper. I have building polygons with an elevation above sea level. When I view these with MapInfo's prism map they get taller as I go up the hill. Can I cut these off according to the contours or the dtm at the location of the building. Can this be done with MapInfo or is it better to do this with Vertical mapper. If this is done in Vertical mapper can it then be displayed with MapInfo's 3d viewer. I am running Vm3 and MapInfo 6.5. I have also created 1 meter contour grids with vertical mapper thinking I might be able to merge the two together or use one to splice the other.
What I have come up with so far is when I run (vertical Mapper) Create a grid> regions to grid for my buildings they end up being cones. I have done this successfully before and am not sure what I am doing different this time round. In the end what I want is a map that shows the city's curvature with the buildings on it. Thank you for any help, hints or ideas.
