Hi Keith,

You forgot to mention the gotcha, that PostgreSQL/PostGis doesn't run natively on 
Windows. It'll only run via cygwin, which really
isn't a good option, only a workaround

MySQL do run natively on Windows, which makes it more relevant for MapInfo users than 
PostgreSQL, imho.

The geometry implementation in MySQL is still rather immature and incomplete, but 
it'll most likely mature quickly, now that the
company's economically supported by SAP.
