Hi All! I second that motion - put a skull with crossed bones on this NorthArrow thing.
I recently had a user who had switched it on and came to me with 40+ 'unusable' workspaces. She had to manually edit out the northarrow.tab references in all files, after I had spent almost an hour tracking the error down. I do not know why they still keep it in, it must date from v3.0 times, that is before MapInfo used True Type fonts for symbols. This removed the background North Arrow table from my workspaces and solved my problem where other people could not open my .wor's due to being unable to locate that file which was previously referred to in all my workspaces. Perhaps it may resolve your problem?
