Q. When translating a MI Tab to a ESRI shp file, the result is sometimes a "multipoint" shape file. I presume this occurs when there is more than one point at a specific location. Anyone know of a way to prevent a "multipoint" file translation by UT or a way to change the resultant shape file?
A. Previous versions (pre MI 7.0) of Universal Translator create simple point shape files. Version 7.0 creates multipoint which can crash ArcView 3.x. Thanks to Warren Vick and Peter Horsbll Mller who made suggestions.
