Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to use MapInfo & MapBasic to create a Workspace/Program to manage network assets. In particular, I was hoping to create a MapBasic program that would run in the background and when one queries a site (represented geographically on a MapInfo Map) that the equipment's operational status pops up. Guess that it would require Map Basic to have the functionality to interrogate the site via equipment's IP address and return certain values. Any information as to MapBasic's capabilities as compared to Visual Basic (with regards to the aforementioned program parameters) would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, if someone has already developed an "commercially" available application along the lines described - I would definitely consider purchasing the software. Regards,
