I have more information. The IT lead on this situation emailed the
following:

"I know what not to do. Don't let them tell you to uninstall and reinstall
the services. I did mapbroker.exe -uninstall and mapbroker.exe -install.
Then I did a full server restore.
[...It] looks as though the mapbroker service should be dependant on some
other service such as the WWW service. That would get it to behave. It
looks like it's trying too load to early in the boot process.
If we kill the mapserver process, (it's always in a "Starting" mode) then
start the service, it starts fine and runs the rest of the day. In the
morning, we get to do it again."

If anyone has had experience with this situation, I'd very much like to hear
about it, and whether or how it was resolved. Thanks!

Subject: Server Problems with MapInfo Discovery

Hello,

I'm not sure if this forum handles technical issues with MapInfo, but in
case anyone has any information...

The IT staff at my company has been wrestling with implementing MapInfo
Discovery for about 2 weeks. The software has been running intermittently.
Most recently, the mapbroker service restarts unexpectedly, and 'hangs'
until someone looks at it and manually restarts it.

Does anyone have information on server problems with MapInfo Discovery,
resolutions, or other ideas or situations to share? Thanks very much!
