If you don't mind considering other langauges than VB, then there are: Sharpdevelop (open source project): http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/Default.aspx C#Builder (Borland): http://www.borland.com/csharpbuilder/personal/index.html The free download version doesn't allow commercial development, but the 70$ pay-for-version may do so (I'm not sure). MapInfo Corp. may actually include sample code as C# instead of VB, since C# is a sort of default langauge on the .NET platform. Also remember that VB.NET is a lot different from VB6.
