Uffe,
I e-mailed back to Bill only by accident but sharpdevelop conks out when you
include the MapInfo GAC's. I contacted MapInfo on it and they contacted the
sharpdevelop project heads but as of yet there isn't a resolution. I'm going
to try C#Builder next because I can't find anyone who has tried it yet who
will give me feed back on if it works with MapInfo or not.
Andy

If you don't mind considering other langauges than VB, then there are:

Sharpdevelop (open source project):
http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/Default.aspx

C#Builder (Borland):
http://www.borland.com/csharpbuilder/personal/index.html
The free download version doesn't allow commercial development, but the
70$ pay-for-version may do so (I'm not sure).

MapInfo Corp. may actually include sample code as C# instead of VB,
since C# is a sort of default langauge on the .NET platform. Also
remember that VB.NET is a lot different from VB6.

Kind regards
