Hi Marty

With regard to your original question the .printmap function covers your 
requirement. You can get the device context for the printer using printer.hdc. 
You can also set the printer resolution and therefore print any map to any 
scale and size.

In terms of templates to sit over the map you can either use printer.print 
printer.line etc from VB or call your own C routines that can be built into  a 
DLL or thirdly call API routines from VB.
