Hmm... I use UltraEdit as my MapBasic IDE and have been impressed with how well it works. I thought I knew all about it. But so many people have mentioned this file search feature that I thought I'd better look again. Well, by golly, there it was right under the Search menu! It can indeed rummage through directory trees, look inside files, search using UE regex, etc. The result comes back with the file names, line number and the line itself. Then you can d-click on the line and UE opens the file and positions the file in the edit window to show the line. Impressive! This is exactly what I needed and more. Man, that UltraEdit is one very well designed editor!
