Su,
there are three basic rules for writing entire Mapinfo 'projects' onto CD.

1 Make sure you know which file syou need for your workspaces and ensure all
the files get burned onto the CD ! (yeah I know this is obvious but you
would be amazed at the number of people who send me a Tab file and nothing
else.....the tricky files to remember are things like hotlinks etc.... also,
always check that you havent opened a file that you dont need on the CD.
Lots of CD-workspaces fail because users setup corporate logos or Topo as
mappers that load on 'startup' and they then forget to include the
logo/topo on the cd etc etc..)

2 Place the Workspaces in the topmost folder of your proposed CD file-tree
and put ALL the data, hotlink files etc in subfolders below it.

3 Make sure the workspaces do NOT open any mappers where a layer is set to
editable (V important!)

As a general rule i tend to make a 'clean' project area on my pc and create
a new folder called MI_PROJECT, into which i put all the workspaces, I then
add sub folders called DATA1, DATA2, HOTLINKS etc etc and put all the real
data into these. Having built up the workspaces as required i manually
check for any 'editable' flags for the layers and then do a final workspace
save.

THEN i find its a good idea to use windows explorer to make the entire
MI_project folder(and subfolders) READ only on the Hard drive, before i do a
final check that it all still works.

Now you are ready to burn...

If you are including any mapbasic programs on the CD and you want the progs
to RUN on CD as a demo, you will need to ensure that the prog doesnt try
and make any files aditable, and that any files saves are to the user's
Windows temp file..Auto -running the prog will require relative path
launches from the Application directory..

Hello, all:

Right now, I would like to burn a CD which contains
all projects related fils (i.e. *.TAB, *.Wor, PDF
files,Images). Can any body show me the techniques to
use relative path to pack everything into a CD so that
my supervisor could read directly everything from this
CD (including hotlinks) without unpacking all the
files to a absoulte location and reopening!

Many Thanks
