If it is a certain projection that shoiuld be replaced by another cetain projection,
you could use UltraEdit to replace the projection line, before importing the MIF/MID
files into MapInfo

Subject: MI-L Replacing a line of text in a mif file

Hi all,

I wish to replace the projection line in a mif file in mapbasic as I
import them in batch.

It would be fairly trivial to read the file line by line and write each
line to another file, testing for the projection clause at each step.
Then when the line comes up, replace that line with another in the output,
and then continue writing that file line by line until the end.

I have several thousand files that I want to do this to, amounting to a
few gigs of mifs. Was wondering if there is an smarter way?

r
