Not sure what you are asking, but here goes... When you are using MapInfo with Oracle then MapInfo (Pro, MapX, Xtreme, etc.) IS the Oracle client. That is: MapInfo connects to Oracle as a client and Oracle "serves" up the data.
You can also use ANY of the standard Oracle client tools, or many third party applications as clients to the database server. Many people use the standard "out of the box" tools that come with Oracle for administrative, query, and other tasks as there is no additional cost. You will need to decide which Oracle client tools to install on your PC's. I would recommend that you install iSQLPlus / SQLPLus client on all machines, but be selective about who gets access to the admin tools. -----Original Message----- From: Sarah Macartney [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, March 19, 2004 06:49 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: MI-L MapInfo 7.5 & Oracle Client Does anybody know what MapInfo are recommending for the Oracle Client on a pc when using MapInfo 7.5, as i am unable to find this in any documentation from MapInfo ?
