Annie It sounds like the key step you are missing is the reparenting of output from MapInfo to windows that you provide - look at SetNextDocument etc in the user guide.
All the examples early on are VB (and thats all I'm familiar with I'm afraid) but you may find the MFC example in the MB user guide will help you more - MapBasic also ships with a Delphi example that you can use as a starting point.
