I and my co-worker have experienced this problem while digitizing with MapInfo-Pro
v.7.5 and I'd like to know if anyone else has encountered this problem, or if MapInfo
is aware of it. We have digitized a lot using 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, and never seen this
problem.

I have a large rectangle which is set as my target. All the digitized objects are
digitized into another table. When using these digitized objects to split into the
target in a seperate table, occassionally we have noticed this problem. When 3
objects on the digitized layer overlap each other (not 2 or 4, but just 3), then the
created object with the most overlap that has been created from the split in the
target layer will show all the correct shapes, yet will still be the same object. So
you have 2 adjacent objects, but they both are highlighted when you click on either of
them. Then, if you try to combine them back together, they will both disappear and
leave a blank spot. However, you can disaggregate them. BUT, if you try to
disaggregate 3 of these types of objects at the same time, then they will all
disappear.

It's like some freakish problem with the number 3 or multiples of 3.

So, in summary.

1 - take one large object.
2 - draw 3 overlapping objects on a seperate layer (a drawing table).
3 - set the first object as the target and then split the 3 overlapping objects into
it all at once.
4 - of the 3 overlapping objects, the one that had the most overlap will cause this
problem.
5 - Notice that the new object on your target layer that corresponds to the object in
your drawing table with the most overlap has been split into pieces, but all the
pieces still think they are part of the same object.
6 - If you try to combine them back together, the objects will disappear completely.
7 - You can disaggregate them into their parts.
8 - If you try to disaggregate 3 of these at the same time, they will disappear.

Are we tripping on something, or have other people encountered this as well?
