So what routes are not close to 1, then? Let's see... my commuter route (short, and in a city) is 0.35mi / 0.265mi = 1.3. If I cut through the alleys and parking lots, it goes down to 1.11, and either way it's not very scenic. If I take the bike path along the river (scenic) it goes up to 3.46. If I stop off at a pub along the way, then the ratio becomes irrelevant.
