One thing you might consider, is including an mbx on the CD, which
determines the used CD drive number (there might even be more than one!) and
uses this info to modify the data accordingly. To modify the data, you'll
off course need to save a temporary copy of the relevant tables on the
user's PC, but it can be done.

Alternatively, if it's "just" the workspace that's causing the problems, you
can have the mbx make a temporary copy of the workspace file (template),
replacing the CD drive letters in it to fit the PC setup.

And have the user open a workspace on the CD that just launches this mbx.
