Re my frustration with MapInfo, which does not provide a real-time readout of direction and length of a new line segment constructed in the cosmetic layer.
I have found an inexpensive solution that also provides some great new capability to MapInfo. Global Mapper (www.globalmapper.com) at $179 provides this capability as an upgrade to its newest release. Request the Build download to upgrade the standard product. The Measure tool allows a diagram to be constructed and exported in about 20 different vector formats, including mif/mid for MapInto.
