Thanks for that. That is sort of how I'd like to go but:
* I can't find anywhere how to do this: invoke MI, via the
windows Run Command, incorporating a (I presume) workspace parameter or
whatever.
* I still don't know what all this "home" and "private Windows
directory" is all about.

Can you not just point the run command at your custom.wor? Windows
should launch MapInfo & load your workspace.
