Hi There

I am using Mapinfo 6.5 and the Discover geological tools to create maps and cross
sections of an area of past mining. There are 4 local grids established on different
structures in the area, I have set up projection clauses for each of these grids based
on AMG84 Zone 55. I have an Access database which contains the collar and survey
details for these holes. The collar table contains 5 sets of coordinates for all the
holes in the 4 local grids and AMG, it also contains hole azimuth info appropriate for
each of these grids. The survey table also contains information for all the holes
relative to these 5 grids. I have established these tables in Mapinfo as linked
tables. Has anyone any suggestions as to the best way to handle the data, I would
like to keep it all in just these two tables rather than split it up by grid. Part of
my problem is that I can only have one Map catalog entry for each table. When I make
the collar table mappable using the AMG coords these fields are then not available in
the table browser and when creating sections in Discover I cannot then choose these
fields for the hole coordinates.

I am also having trouble with the "Per Row" option when trying to make the table
mappable - when I select this option Mapinfo crashes when I click OK.

In addition can anyone tell me what a .aid file is and when it is created, I can't
find any info in the manuals or on the net.

        Cheers

                Steve King
