Reno MI defaults to floating point (4 dp) when data are imported you have to change the field definition to decimal. (Table maintenance).
A second problem that you may run into is that MI will return coordinates as decimal degrees even if you have been working in another system. To get around this open the Map Basic window and: SET COORDSYS TABLE <table name without tab extension> and press enter.
